Sally Thomson

Sally Thomson is a fine art and documentary photographer based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She has pursued making photographs for many years, as a landscape architect, photographer, and intrepid traveler. Following a passion for the art of photography, her images focus on environments and cultures that communicate a strong sense of place and explore issues related to the human condition and natural world.  Her goal is to create compelling imagery that is both engaging, and encourages understanding about the beauty, diversity, and hardship of our interlocking world.

Sally’s work has been commissioned by individuals, corporations, not-for-profits, and has appeared in a variety of print and web-based media. Her imagery has been shown at The Hubbard Museum of the West, The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, and various fine art galleries in the US.  Her project, Stories from the Range, was exhibited on THE FENCE NM 2017, and featured on Sony’s World Photography site. In 2018 her project on Women Ranchers of the American Southwest was shown in Barcelona, Spain's part of the Biennial Fine Art and Documentary International Exhibition.
